Our electric motors are designed and manufactured to meet the most stringent requirements of the industrial and mining sectors and are compliant to the following standards:

International Electrotechnical Commission – IEC 34 and IEC 72.
The requirements of European CE marking SABS 1804 Parts 1 and 2.
Ambient operating temperatures range from – 20ºC to 40ºC.
Standard insulation class F can be increased to class H.
The standard degree of protection is IP55 although higher degrees are available on request.

Variable Speed Drives

Our Variable Speed Drives are supplied by Frecon, who are established worldwide and part of Sino International Limited. Continental Engineering is an authorised distributor. Frecon covers the full spectrum of Variable Speed Drives including medium voltage.

• SPANSION (USA), new generation motor control dedicated processor, dominant frequency 144MHZ.
  This allows Frecon to obtain from a market leader the latest algorithms for VSD functionality and to set a perfect base for local
  and other communication protocols.
• PCBA (Germany) with original conformal coating to improve life
  and complete reliability.
  All electronic PCB boards are coated in this highly specialized and patented German product. One of the critical reasons is the establishment of the -10 to +40ºC operating temperature.
  The typical problems of Variable Speed Drives starting to fail with changing climate conditions causing critical failures are thus eliminated.
• HITACHI (Japan) electrolytic capacitor technology with redundancy design.
  Hitachi – a market leader with electrolytic capacitor design – ensures that this critical part of the Variable Speed Drive is managed with specific design and redundancy.
• Infineon (Germany) latest design in IGBT technology.
  The IGBT, being the core of the electrical switching system, is the best choice for reliability and excellent cooling characteristics.
  Independent air duct design, maximum 50ºC. Extra care was taken for best duct design for effective cooling.
